Since opening on 16th December 1916, the Ommaroo Hotel has been delighted to welcome guests through our doors at Havre des Pas and in 2026, we’re proud to celebrate 110 amazing years of hospitality.
We’ve been family-owned by the Grant / Palmer family for more than a century, and that means the world to us. Designed by architect Adolphus Curry, our beautiful building has seen so much history, opening during the First World War and growing through decades of change, from the days of steamship travel to today’s global tourism.
Over the years, we’ve welcomed generations of guests, loyal visitors who return year after year, families celebrating special moments, sports teams, business travellers, and our wonderful local community who make us part of island life.
For 2026, we’ve added a special message to our logo: “Welcoming You Since 1916.” It’s a little reminder of where we started, and how proud we are to still be here, doing what we love.
Reaching 110 years is something we’re incredibly proud of. It reflects the dedication of our team (past and present), the loyalty of our guests, and the support of our island community.
After more than a century, one thing hasn’t changed, we’re still here, welcoming you with warmth, care and a friendly smile… just as we’ve done since 1916.
